Hey there Dragonrider,

As I am writing this we are just short of 14,000, which is still absolutely awe-inspiring. Thank you to so many of you for believing in this project. Because we are so far ahead of the goal, I've been able to get some artists working on more art. Toni aka Anonymous_Gob on twitter sent these early sketches of the Black Dragon to Abbey and I, and we were blown away.


In the world of Warrenguard, Black Dragons are ruthless and cutthroat, and will do anything to win a fight. Their bite is venomous and deadly, and they breathe noxious clouds of death and decay. I'm so excited to give you all a sneak peak at Toni's art, and show you the process as it develops. Which dragon are you most excited to see art for?

Abbey Kelly, they talented art director and layout designer of Warrenguard is going to be at BreakoutCon! In addition to being an outstanding art director, and an invaluable part of this project, they are also a talented improvisor, and will be leading two sessions of Putting the RP in TTRPG: Improv for Roleplay which you can register for!
In addition, if you find Abbey at the con, and show her you are a backer, she has some dragonrider stickers for you! Please be polite and don't interrupt Abbey if she is in a game or otherwise occupied, a dragonrider is polite!

Greetings Dragonriders,

Tonight at 7:30 EST I'm going to be a guest on Valiant Dorian's Designer Spotlight show on Twitch! Valiant is a top class interviewer, so I am greatly anticipating this interview! You can tune in at twitch tv/otsospiritbear

I also want to use this space to highlight other games I am excited about and spread some of the success you have so graciously given me around.

First is Not Yet: A Romantic TTRPG Duet by Taylor Navarro which launches TODAY! Not Yet is a game about characters who are perfect for each other almost getting together. It sounds juicy and I can't wait to play it.

Second is Biotrophication by Darling Demon Eclipse which wraps up its successfully funded Kickstarter campaign this weekend. Biotrophication is another two player rpg, but in this you play as an alien and their human pet and explore that relationship. This game seems delightfully strange, and I am excited to try it.

Hey Dragonriders!

Today I got my first look at the physical token prototypes from Dice Dungeons featuring art by Natalie Chenard based on our amazing cover art. They feature the iconic dragonrider from the book cover, as well as a warren, the floating island homes of the titular Warrenguard. These tokens are so cool, and I can't wait to get a full set and run a game with them.


These tokens can come in either gold or silver, I've attached a poll for you to vote on what color you prefer. The choice is up to the backers, so if you want to vote, you need to back!

Tonight I get to announce two new stretch goals I could not be more excited about.

At 15k (Less that $3500 away as I write this) Shan Bennion who drew the gorgeous art of a cozy warren room we have been using for ads and promotion will be drawing a landscape in the world of Warrenguard which we will be producing as a physical postcard included for all physical backers (Dragonrider or higher) at no extra charge

At 20k, Jay Dragon (Wanderhome, Sleepaway, Yazeba's Bed & Breakfast) will be writing a new rider archetype for Warrenguard. Jay's work is a massive influence on Warrenguard, so having Jay actually writing for the project is unbelievable. I want to hit this goal so badly and see what Jay writes.

7 hours. It took you only 7 hours to fully fund Warrenguard. I want to thank each and every one of you who backed, as well as all of you who tweeted, blueskyed, instagrammed, facebooked, reddited, and just got the word out about this game absolutely any way you could. I am so deeply enthusiastic about this game, and I cannot wait to get it in your hands, and hear what stories you tell with it! The stretch goals we've reached are going to be fantastic (expect to hear more specifics about them in future updates) 

I am excited to announce V.M. Ayala is joining the writing team for Warrenguard to write some in universe fiction. V.M. Ayala (she/they) is a queer disabled biracial Mexican American sci-fi/fantasy writer. She loves dragons, space, giant robots, and their partner. You can find their work at spacevalkyries.com and keep up with her most social media places @spacevalkyries. You also might know them as Val, who plays Sofi Reinarider on the Critical Misses Actual Play of Warrenguard.
